COMS Interactive is advancing post-acute care through quality care improvement. With the ability to work with or without your EMR system, the COMS product suite is distinctly different, focused on helping clinical staff assess and provide care. COMS processes result in a higher quality of care and improved outcomes – from enhanced documentation to lower hospital readmissions and more. What does COMS do?

COMS Interactive has spent over 20 years focused on the issue of increasing acuity in the post-acute setting and supporting skilled nursing facilities in the daily clinical management of residents. Our research determined a significant gap between the complexity of the skilled nursing resident population and the clinical nursing model necessary to support their care needs. As a result, COMS developed a proactive care management solution. Our solution is comprised of 58 best-practice, evidence-based “Care Guides” that standardize the frontline nursing process, provide a framework for nursing supervision and identify outcome measures that need to be managed based on the individual resident’s disease profile.

A 30-year practicing physician, Dr. Tom Riemenschneider, MD, MA, MBA, began his medical career in Pediatric Cardiology and Medical Management, and ultimately worked as a Professor of Biostatistics. With his clinical expertise and biostatistics knowledge, Dr. Riemenschneider created the clinical tool that would become COMS along with his son, Jim Riemenschneider, Co-Founder.

Executive Team

Jim Riemenschneider

Founder & Chief Revenue Officer

Jim co-founded COMS Interactive in 2008. Jim continues to lead Marketing and Sales Initiatives, as well as Strategic Partnerships. Prior to COMS, he was a founding partner and President of STA Healthcare Services, where he was responsible for consulting and management services, as well as education and clinical research to organizations that provide care to the elderly. Jim received his undergraduate degree from Baldwin Wallace College and his Master’s in Business Administration with a Health Care Emphasis from Cleveland State University. He also has a Nursing Home Administrator License.

Bill Stuart

President & Chief Operating Officer

Bill’s diverse work experiences in business management, his MBA from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management, and his Executive Education training at The Harvard School of Business are the foundations for his successes as a C-level executive at COMS. Most recently, Bill served as a Founding Partner in an early stage venture capital firm where along with raising and investing capital he continues to participate in the executive management of multiple portfolio companies. With a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Bill has led and participated on design and development teams for numerous products and systems.

Tom Mohney

Chief Information Officer

Tom is responsible for Information Technology Strategy, Corporate Infrastructure, and overall Software Development. Tom’s 20 years of Information Technology experience have prepared him for the continuous improvement of the COMS Product Suite. Tom is an ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Youngstown State University.

Matt Cannon

VP Business Development

As Vice President of Business Development, Matt implements sales initiatives to ensure COMS’ continued growth. He has spent the last 16 years of his career working in Long-Term Care, with many years as Senior Manager and VP for Medline Industries. Matt is a San Diego State University graduate with a BS in International Business and a Minor in Spanish.

Dr. V Simon Mittal

Director of Medical Affairs

Dr. Mittal is board certified in internal medicine. He graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and medical school at the University of Texas in HSC in Houston. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, and St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. Dr. Mittal has special interests in quality improvement, sepsis infection management, cardiovascular medicine, heart failure, rheumatology, and gerontology

Tracy Kuhn

Vice President of Operations

As Vice President of Operations, Tracy enhances the Customer Experience while leading both the Customer Support Team and Sales Support. She is responsible for streamlining all company processes while maintaining a smooth transition period, spanning from product to sales to implementation. Tracy graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College with a BS in Business Administration. She has utilized her 20+ years of experience in technology to bring the COMS’ Customer Experience to life.
